One of the coolest moments for me personally that entire day was getting to meet Machine Head (Fun Fact: Machine Head is a HUGE influence on Psychostick's musical style). One thing is for sure, they're awesome guys and I hope we get to tour or play shows with 'em again someday.
Anyway, we're up to 12.8% of our album fundraiser goal as of today! Awesome awesome awesome. Thanks everyone for putting your hard earned money into the cause. We'll make sure this next album is the best album since... uhh, Stevie Wonder?

Fan Donations Secure Their Name As Lyrics On New Psychostick Album

Comedy/metal band Psychostick has launched a new way to help raise recording money for their next album: In exchange for a $50 donation, Psychostick will use their fans’ names as a lyric in their new and unwritten song, "400 Thank Yous" (working title). The band plans to start recording in August with a spring 2009 release via Rock Ridge Music.Not bad eh?
"Our fans have been asking more and more frequently about when we're going to record our next album. The problem has not been a lack of songs - we have enough songs to record two new albums. We simply haven't been able to afford to stop touring and record it. Finally, something had to be done. This was our solution," says guitarist Josh "The J" Key.
From July 14 – September 30, Psychostick will be accepting the $50 donations (limited to only 375) through their website, psychostick.com. Businesses will have the opportunity to name drop in one of only 25 places for $250.
In addition to the name use, every donor will receive a signed copy of the new album and a signed poster. One lucky individual will win a pair of tickets plus airfare and accommodations to the CD release party.*
The band has also posted a heartfelt promotional video on YouTube.com.
"So in a nutshell, drop some cash our way and your name shall be immortalized in a Psychostick song. We'll pronounce it correctly and everything," promises Key.
Psychostick has created a special page on their website which details exactly where the money goes (studio time, new equipment, software, etc). Visitors to the page can follow the bands progress dollar for dollar. In total, the band hopes to raise $23,000.

So in a nutshell, donate $50 bucks, your first and last name are part of our lyrics for a song on the next CD. Donate $250 bucks, your business name becomes a part of the lyrics for a song on the next CD!
This'll make sure our new CD gets recorded and released by hopefully spring 2009. Hell yeah!
Digital Video DILOPHOSAURUS?

First things first: I have officially started work on the Psychostick DVD. It'll contain tons of random tour nonsense, live footage, and whatever else I can compile for your viewing pleasure. Wow!
The DVD is tentatively titled, "Psychostick Gone Wild!" and will be done when it's done. I'm gonna aim for a September 2008 release, but I can't exactly promise that. Wow!
The Terrible Shirt contest will take place very soon. We have something like 2000 photos to sort through and pull out the winners from each show. Patience!
The contest will take place in our forums. Werd!

Rockstar/Jagermeister Mayhem Festival

On July 18th, 2008, Psychostick will be opening the Jagermeister stage in Phoenix, AZ at Cricket Pavillion. This is the place where Ozzfest usually happens when they decide to come to Phoenix, so it's a big deal for us.

Tour is going AWESOME. Lots of terrible shirts out there. Remember, if you win the terrible shirt contest at one of our shows, you'll be submitted to the National Terrible Shirt contest. Ooooh!
