The Why

Starting in July, we will (finally) enter the studio to record the follow-up to our 2006 re-release of, "We Couldn't Think Of A Title." Anyone who has attended one of our shows during the past two tours ("The Terrible Shirt Tour" & "The Holy Crap We're Touring Tour") will have already heard some of the new tunes and loved them to the appropriate degree.

Our fans have been asking more and more frequently when we're going to record our next album. Finally, something had to be done. The problem has not been songs, we have enough songs to record 2 new albums. We simply haven't been able to afford to stop touring and record it. Such is the challenge of being a hardcore DIY (Do It Yourself) band like Psychostick. But this is our solution.

"But Psychostick," you ask in a superb, whiney, Fran Drescher-esque voice, "what's in it for me if I donate all this cash to your awesome cause?"

A few of the various new songs entitled "Orange", "Minimum Rage", "Shower", Sombrero Prophecy" and "Don't Eat My Food" will all be on the new album. For the last song, "______", we want your help. More specifically, we want your names.

For a donation of $50 or more, your name will become the most important lyric in the new song, "_______". Here's how it breaks down:

$50 donation gets you in the verse.
$250 donation gets your business name in the verse.

Anyone who makes a donation of $25 or more will get a signed copy of the album and a poster on or before the release date (Spring 2009).

It's also a contest!

One lucky person will win a pair of tickets to the CD release party, airfare and hotel accommodations included. Must be 18+ or accompanied by a parent.

So in a nutshell, drop some cash our way and your name shall be immortalized in a Psychostick song. We'll pronounce it correctly and everything!

Where it goes

$23,000 sounds insane, right? All things considered, bands usually get many times that from a normal record deal. Since Psychostick is so NOT normal and 100% independent, we have to look towards other means to fund our next CD.

The $23,000 will go towards a slew of vital stuff. Here's the breakdown:

Disclaimer

Time for some legal stuff.

If you donate $50 or $250 to have your name put on the CD, you are either 18 years old or older, OR you are under 18 and have obtained your parent's permission.

Also, by donating to have your name put in the song or CD, you agree that you release your name for public use on the new Psychostick CD. This means we will release the CD into stores nationwide, worldwide even, and you will be perfectly okay with it. It also means you will not pursue profit from Psychostick once the CD is available digitally or on compact disc. You also will not pursue any legal action for Psychostick to use your name in the CD.

Psychostick agrees to only use your name in the song and lyric sheet and on their website and nothing more.

Upon donation, you will automatically be entered into the CD Release contest. You must be 18+ or accompanied by a parent.
