Psychostick, Look What I Did announce dates for “Pay Off the Van” Tour
Psychostick will hit the road this summer on a headlining tour with info-punk band Look What I Did along for direct support. The band has a simple goal this summer – they want to pay off their van.
“From a business standpoint, it is always best to minimize your expenses. By doing that, it is significantly easier to tour without having a huge amount of money due every month,” says drummer Alex Preiss. “Wait...I'm supposed to be a rocker...what I meant to say was; we just want to party!”
The “Pay Off the Van” Tour will be Look What I Did’s second tour with Psychostick. The bands, along with Powerglove, joined forces in May/June 2008 for the “Terrible Shirt” Tour. The band ‘s February 2010 album, Atlas Drugged, was produced by Brian Virtue (Deftones, Chevelle, 30 Seconds to Mars) and released on Modernist Movement Records.
"We're extremely excited to hit the road with our buddies in Look What I Did again. They just released a new disc and I can't wait to see them perform some of my new favorite songs. I'm also very stoked to get our van paid off. Hey, if you could tour the country to pay off your vehicle, would you? Of course you would."
"Psychostick are great friends,” says Look What I Did drummer Jake Omen, “this tour will make 'House Party 2 look like House Party 3'." Psychostick is currently in the final dates of their 9 week tour with Green Jelly and Nashville Pussy. The band released “The Digital Appetizer”, a 3-song collection of new music, earlier this month. Cockblock and Tuff Luv are available for listening on the bands website.
PSYCHOSTICK TO RELEASE THREE BRAND NEW TRACKS DIGITALLY ON MAY 11th
Humorcore band Psychostick is set to release three new tracks, dubbed “The Digital Sampler,” on May 11, 2010. The songs will be available via their website (www.psychostick.com), MySpace page (www.myspace.com/psychostick) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/psychostick). The song titles are “Cockblock,” “Tuff Luv,” and “iSong.”
Psychostick plan to hit the road in June and July with one of their favorite underground bands, Look What I Did (tour dates to be announced soon). The six-week run has been titled "The Pay Off the Van Tour.” “We've been making payments on the chariot for what seems like forever," says Psychostick vocalist Rob Kersey. "Our goal is to pay off the final few thousand this summer and relieve some of the financial strain on our bank account. It's a noble cause."
Psychostick is currently in the midst of the Parental Advisory Tour with Nashville Pussy and Green Jelly (see remaining tour dates below). “Touring with Green Jelly and Nashville Pussy has been very educational and enlightening,” says Kersey. “We’ve always been a DIY, self-touring band, but now we're seeing how touring with professionals actually works. Bill Manspeaker from Green Jelly has been especially influential.”
Psychostick helped Manspeaker celebrate his birthday in Austin, TX, with proper chaos on May 1st. The band, along with the help of fans and Nashville Pussy guitarist Ruyter Suys, pummeled him with 60 rolls of toilet paper and 15 canisters of silly string. Manspeaker later thanked the band for a memorable evening. Fan footage of the event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHD33ZI0SMc

Psychostick to tour with Green Jelly and Nashville Pussy 02-22-10
Underground comedy/metal band Psychostick has announced that they will take part in the Parental Advisory Tour with Green Jelly and Nashville Pussy. The tour kicks off in Orlando, FL, on March 25th and will run through June 7th.
"Our fans have been suggesting a tour with Green Jelly since forever," says Psychostick vocalist Rob "Rawrb" Kersey. "Having Nashville Pussy headline the whole thing will only make this tour even better. We're looking forward to the run and think our fans will really dig it."
This tour marks the debut of Psychostick's new bassist, Matt Kyzmeck. "Billy Rymer, the drummer from Dillinger Escape Plan, recommended Matt to us," says Psychostick drummer Alex Preiss. "He [Matt] passed with flying colors and we're very excited to bring him aboard!" Former bassist Jimmy Grant left Psychostick in December 2009 for undisclosed reasons.
Best known for the song "Beer Is Good... And Stuff," Psychostick spent much of 2009 on tour promoting their latest album, "Sandwich." The band released a video for "Girl Directions" in December 2009. Plans for after the Parental Advisory Tour are simple – more touring.
